I have been shooting with the Nikkor 70-200 S lens on my film sets and this Lens in an engineering masterpiece! It’s a fine piece of glass, possibly the best I have ever used, I am getting deeper blacks and stronger contrast, oh and most important to me this lens is completely silent on my film sets!

Jasin Boland has this cool video on his YouTube channel showing all the gear he takes to photograph stills on a movie, and we thought you’d like to see it all.

“They call me Mr Nikon and the question I get asked the most is what gear do I use when I am on a film set. So… I had to ship my kit to my next film and thought it was a great opportunity to show you what’s in the photographer’s bag.

I did one of these around 15 years ago for the special features on the film ‘Aeon Flux’ and it’s way overdue for an update!

My buddy Scott organised with his buddy Wes to use his new studio Creative Focus Studios on the Gold Coast Australia to shoot a little vid, pack my gear and then have it picked up for shipping.

It’s pretty self-explanatory but I don’t use all this gear every day it’s broken down into HPRC hard cases for different scenarios like, general onset, blimp bags, camera rigs and safety equipment.

Some lenses I only use on a shoot once or twice while others are used every day and if you look at it there’s pretty much only a one body to a two lens ratio and on a massive action scene I can shoot 5 Nikons at a time with remotes and a practical camera so its not hard to get all this gear out.
